What is IUMI?

International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) is a professional body which is run by and for its members.

Who are IUMI's members?

National insurance and marine insurance associations and professionals (IPPs), all related to the activity of marine insurance.

What are IUMI's activities?

- IUMI provides an important forum to discuss and exchange ideas of common interest to marine insurers and reinsurers.
- IUMI protects and advance its members' interests.
- IUMI maintains a worldwide communication network, a platform from which views and ideas on matters of marine insurance and reinsurance are disseminated to all interested parties which also include the shipping industry, surveyors and international law offices.

IUMI's lobbying activities

We defend our members' interests with international organisations such as the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and international specialised media.

IUMI's unique status

IUMI has a unique status in the world of marine and transport insurance. Its members are dedicated to maintain and expand trade, focussing on developed but also emerging markets.
